One thing I love to do around Christmastime is to snuggle into the rocking chair in my parents living room in the evenings with only the tree lights on, wrapped in a blanket sipping hot tea. I love gazing at all of the ornaments and the way the lights reflect off of the shiny wrapping paper of the gifts stacked below. It’s such a magical time of year. The age-old question has been lingering on my mind lately, “What do you want to be when you grow up.” We have all asked others this question and have had it asked of ourselves many times. What do you do when life throws you curves and you forget to duck? When things don’t seem…fair. We’ve all been there. We’ve had those days that are plain ole’ poopy and things just aren’t swinging your way. I hate those days. On days like that I can’t wait for my head to hit the pillow and to wake up to a fresh start the next morning. I take a hot shower; massage my favorite Moroccan oil into my hair, slip on my silky soft Aerie sleep shirt, and lather on my Nighttime Tea body lotion. Yes, mmhmm I’m feeling better already! Christmas…it’s hard to not love a holiday that encompasses such warmth. It enables opportunities for acts of kindness that may normally be ignored. It’s a season where love transcends distance and barriers. It brings people together and most importantly glorifies our majestic and mighty Savior, Jesus Christ: the King of Kings.
